Service Terms
These service terms explain how repair requests work. Read about quotes, rush service and shipping before you send your device.
Sending a request
Graphics Repair Canada is an MRC specialist site. Submitting the form sends a request for review; it does not reserve a time, authorize work or guarantee a repair. Canada is our main market. International mail-in service is available only for jobs MRC accepts. Do not mail a card until MRC provides shipping instructions.
International mail-in
Before shipping from outside Canada, wait for MRC’s instructions about the customs broker, carrier and return costs for your request. The customer is responsible for shipping, customs, duties, taxes, brokerage, insurance and return costs. Service availability and permitted shipping routes depend on the origin country, card and carrier restrictions.
GPU Certification
The $50 CAD plus tax price covers a check of one supported used desktop graphics card that MRC has agreed to take. We compare it with its sales listing and the parts expected for that model. We record its identifying details, model, memory, chips, circuit board, cooler and other required parts. This can reveal missing, substituted or changed chips and other differences found in deceptive sales of used cards.
We also try to boot the card in our shop’s test system. If it boots, you receive a written test report listing the checks we completed and the results we observed. GPU Certification reports only what we observe on that card. It does not certify that the card meets the manufacturer’s standards and is not a repair diagnostic, authenticity or performance guarantee, warranty, or assurance that there are no hidden faults. We do not establish the seller’s intent or ownership of the card, or make legal findings of fraud.
Shipping, repair and parts cost extra. The certification fee is non-refundable once checking begins.
Reviewing your request and quoting repairs
We review your request for free to decide whether we can take the job. This review is not a repair diagnostic. Once a card we have agreed to work on arrives, we diagnose it and give you a quote. No repair work begins until you approve that quote. The work, price and other details MRC gives you for your job are the ones that apply.
Rush service
Rush service is optional and costs an additional $130.
